It’s been a month since we added achievements to our Smartle word game, and we’re excited to share some interesting results. It looks like you’ve been enjoying the new challenges in the daily word game, and we’ve already seen some impressive numbers of achievements we never expected to be unlocked so quickly. In this blog, we’ll talk about the first month of achievements in our online word puzzle and share a closer look at how many people unlocked them already. Also, we want to reveal a couple of the secret achievements that have kept players guessing.
One achievement stands out as the clear favorite: nearly 15,000 players unlocked “Hint-Free Hustler” by solving a daily word puzzle without using hints. It’s great to see so many of you showing off your word skills and solving online word puzzles completely on your own. As someone for whom English is not their native language, we must confess, we rarely are able to complete daily without using at least one hint.
Next 2 achievements in our opinion reflect the fun and frustration that come with playing word games online. Impressive number of 963 players unlocked “Clueless Hero” by winning a Sprint game without using hints, showing true mastery of the game. On the other hand, 802 players earned “You Shall Not Pass” by failing a Sprint puzzle on the very last word — proving that even the best players can have a tough day. We find it quite fun that achievements like these capture all the highs and lows of playing word puzzles, and we can’t wait to see how the next couple of months will go.
Other achievements fall somewhere in the middle. For example, 19 players claimed “Victory at Any Cost” by completing a Daily word puzzle in 300 or more swaps, and 17 ultra-dedicated players completed 20 Sprint puzzles in a single day to earn “Ultra Sprinter” achievement. 63 players earned “Letter Tower” by stacking a column with the same letter, which seems really impressive to us. The single player who won Sprint mode in the final three seconds, earning the “Deadline Dominator” title deserves the special shout-out. And we are very curious, whether in the future there will be anyone else who can repeat his success.
Some achievements, however, seem to be nearly impossible to unlock — at least for now. No one has yet managed to earn “Elevator Simulator”. To get it you must complete a Daily word puzzle by only swapping letters in columns. It is very interesting that the same achievement but with rows seems to be easier. 28 players completed a daily word puzzle by swapping only letters in rows and got “Row the boat” achievement.
We think that in conclusion achievements have made our daily word game even more exciting. It’s amazing to see how many of you are enjoying the new challenges. From unlocking big milestones like “Hint-Free Hustler” to chasing tricky ones like “Elevator Simulator”, you’re making online word puzzles more fun than ever.
